Language Tours

LANGUAGE TOURS with the Groups Company appeal to those who have perhaps completed a language course and may be interested in travelling with other members of their class in order to practice, hone and develop their emerging language skills. So much better, after talking in their chosen language for one hour a week, to spend a week or so using the language they have learned.

The group may want to fully lose themselves in the language, finally speaking constantly in their new tongue. Or they may prefer a lighter touch, with morning and afternoon sessions of just an hour or two where their linguistic skills are part of the day only, with other activities built into the itinerary.

You and your group choose which style of  language tour you require.

We operate Language Tours to the following destinations:-
Bolivia, Cuba, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Peru Portugal, & Spain

A typical day...
After a leisurely breakfast we might set off on our day’s drive, or, if we are staying at one place for the entire holiday, set of on a morning excursion to a local point of interest.(This excursion you might have chosen in consultation with us at the planning stage of the holiday or we may simply decide what is of interest on the day).
Lunch will be a leisurely affair with plenty of time to talk.

The afternoon may see us taking a further excursion, driving on to our next night stop, or just relaxing before the evening and a pleasant dinner.

The key point for every day: does the group use the opportunity to test their language skills intermittently throughout the day, as they feel inclined; is only the local language to be used (this is a better approach if all the group are well-versed in the language) or is there one or two hours a day when the local language is spoken amongst the group? Whatever decision is made there will be time all day, every day, to talk to the local people and improve your confidence daily.  Language lessons with your teacher may be built into the day if you wish. The choice is yours.

Sample itineraries ...
The itineraries below are intended only to give an indication of what might be possible in a particular country, following an itinerary catering for a particular special interest.
 .
No details of meals or accommodation are included in the itineraries as it would be your decision, at the planning stage, as to what is included. You would decide whether your tour included all meals, just Bed and Breakfast, or Bed and Breakfast plus some lunches or dinners at certain points on the itinerary. Similarly you would decide what standard of accommodation you wanted to use.

The itineraries detailed are deliberately short ones. It is intended to give a flavour, an outline, of an itinerary.  If you have more time, then extra time can be built into each stop on the itinerary, and additional places of interest and overnight stops can be added. Lengthening the itinerary, to 10 days or two weeks, for example, and adding further night-stops will enrich your journey; shown below is just a brief skeletal itinerary as a basis for discussion and more detailed planning.
