Gulet, Dhow & yacht tours

GULET, DHOW & YACHT TOURS with the Groups Company appeal to those who like to relax. Motoring or sailing gently along the  coast of Turkey, Greece or Croatia, with the need to do little more than prop yourself up on one arm to take a drink from one of the crew, can relax even the most stressed amongst us. Anchoring in the quiet of secluded bays or going ashore into the bustle of small ports to offers contrasts within the journey that   add to the variety in pace that is a gulet voyage, whilst the dramatic fiords of South Island will attract our cruising groups

Some groups want nothing more than to sail slowly along the Turkish coast, savouring the contrasts of the day. Other groups want to build other activities into the voyage: going ashore to ramble, to visit archaeological sites, to paint, to take photographs, to explore the world of Turkish cuisine.

The beauty of a gulet voyage is that it can be tailor-made to blend relaxation on board with your chosen activity ashore.

You and your group choose which style of gulet tour you prefer.

We operate Gulet, Dhow & Yacht tours to the following destinations:-
Croatia, Greece, the Greek Islands, Madagascar New Zealand & Turkey

A typical day ...
After a leisurely breakfast, served on deck by the crew, we will depart on our morning voyage. We may motor, as most gulets do nowadays, to free us from dependence on the wind. However we may hoist the sails as our gulets are expected to voyage partly under canvas.
Lunch time usually sees us at anchor in a quiet cove or bay, with time for a swim whilst the cook finalises the preparation of several local dishes. Eating freshly cooked local food, whilst relaxing on the sun deck to the sound of the sea lapping against the hull of the gulet, is a perfect way to enjoy the mid-day meal.
Our afternoon sail, like our morning journey, may see us go ashore for a while. A walk to a site of interest, a stop in port for supplies or just a swim stop may break up the voyage. (If our gulet journey is designed to cater for a special interest of the group – painting, photography, archaeology, cooking or golf, for example – then time ashore would be spent accordingly).
A last passage, in the late afternoon, takes us to our night stop. Sometimes our evenings are spent in a bustling port; where dinner ashore on the quayside precedes an evening of exploring a small port. Sometimes we may lie at anchor in a secluded bay or in the lee of an island where drinks as the sun sets precede dinner from the galley.
Quiet anchorages or bustling ports, meals ashore or on the gulet, long passages or short cruises: the choice is yours.

Sample itineraries ...
The itineraries below are intended only to give an indication of what might be possible in a particular country, following an itinerary catering for a particular special interest.

No details of meals or accommodation are included in the itineraries as it would be your decision, at the planning stage, as to what is included. You would decide whether your tour included all meals, just Bed and Breakfast, or Bed and Breakfast plus some lunches or dinners at certain points on the itinerary. Similarly you would decide what standard of accommodation you wanted to use.

The itineraries detailed are deliberately short ones. It is intended to give a flavour, an outline, of an itinerary.  If you have more time, then extra time can be built into each stop on the itinerary, and additional places of interest and overnight stops can be added. Lengthening the itinerary, to 10 days or two weeks, for example, and adding further night-stops will enrich your journey; shown below is just a brief skeletal itinerary as a basis for discussion and more detailed planning.
