Bridge Tours

BRIDGE groups with the groups company appeal to those who want to combine their love of the game with a little overseas travel. You may choose to plan a short break to somewhere in Europe, or you may choose to venture further afield for a short break or even a longer journey.
It could be that your group wants to focus totally on the game, spending much of the time playing. Or you may prefer to build a few games of bridge into an itinerary that encompasses visits to areas of interest around where you are staying.
Some groups want to simply play a few friendly games as part of the holiday, others want to incorporate into the holiday the chance to improve their game. In this case it is worth building into the programme a bridge teacher who can offer tuition sessions as well as tips and hints to improve your game. He or she can also organise a more formal competition which runs throughout the holiday.
Whether you travel close to home or further afield; whether you incorporate a few friendly games or a structured competition into the itinerary; whether or not you take the opportunity for your group to improve their game by means of tuition sessions; these factors are all decided by you and your group; the choice is yours.

We operate archaeological tours to the following destinations:-
Cuba, Greece, Greek Islands, Israel, Italy, Spain & Turkey

A typical day...
A typical days with a groups company bridge tour will vary according to the amount of bridge that your group wants to play.  Your day might start with a hearty breakfast, followed by a morning tuition session led by your bridge teacher. Lunch then offers the chance to chat with the rest of the group, and perhaps a short afternoon stroll might precede an afternoon friendly game. The evening may see a visit to a local restaurant, or perhaps a light supper preceded or followed by the final bridge game of the day.

If your groups prefers a less totally focused approach to a bridge holiday then things may be slightly different. After a pleasant breakfast your group may depart on a half day excursion or sightseeing visit to some point of interest in the area where you are staying. After returning to the hotel and relaxing over lunch, an afternoon tuition session might precede an end of the day combination of a light meal and an evening game.

If your group prefers to balance sightseeing an a little bridge then breakfast might be followed by a full day excursion or sightseeing visit. On returning to the hotel an evening game might then follow or precede dinner. If your group prefers to travel around the destination country of your choice then some days might involve travelling from one night-stop to the next whilst alternative days may be devoted to tuition sessions and informal games or competitions.

The choice of how the days of your holiday are structured is of course decided by you and your bridge group.

Sample itineraries ...
The itineraries below are intended only to give an indication of what might be possible in a particular country, following an itinerary catering for a particular special interest.

No details of meals or accommodation are included in the itineraries as it would be your decision, at the planning stage, as to what is included. You would decide whether your tour included all meals, just Bed and Breakfast, or Bed and Breakfast plus some lunches or dinners at certain points on the itinerary. Similarly you would decide what standard of accommodation you wanted to use.

The itineraries detailed are deliberately short ones. It is intended to give a flavour, an outline, of an itinerary.  If you have more time, then extra time can be built into each stop on the itinerary, and additional places of interest and overnight stops can be added. Lengthening the itinerary, to 10 days or two weeks, for example, and adding further night-stops will enrich your journey; shown below is just a brief skeletal itinerary as a basis for discussion and more detailed planning.
