Vanuatu - consists of some 83 islands, strung our north-south over about 1,300kms, lying about 2,500kms north of Sydney Australia. Once known as the New Hebrides the country gained independance from France and UK in 1980, becoming known locally as the Ripablik Blong Vanuatu. Most of the islands have some habitation although the total population is only about 250,000 and Port Vila, the capital, and Luganville are the only real towns. The country is covered mostly by tropical rainforest and boasts several active volcanoes as well as some superb beaches. Taxation is levied on imports; there is no personal or company taxation.

With strong local traditions and many local festivals this is a vibrant and intriguing country, with opportunities for RAMBLING and GOLF on some of the islands and FISHING off its many shores and GOLF  - about as far as our UK groups can get from the fairways of Spain and Portugal! The scenery, never less than stunning and dramatic, from the mountainous interiors to the lengthy coastlines, is ideal for our PHOTOGRAPHY groups.
