One of the EU's newest additions, Romania is one of the fastest growing tourism destinations in the world. From the resorts along the Black Sea, the Carpathian Mountains in the centre of the country, the historical cities of the interior to the Danube Delta - Romania has a lot of variety to tempt the tourist.

The history of Romania is rich; the medieval towns of Transylvania in the heart of the nation and the painted villages of the north are major attractions for the visitor attracted to the culture of the country. The landscape is another draw, particularly in the south, where the Danube Delta, most of which lies within Romania, is the largest wetland in Europe. It offers days of wildlife exploration whilst staying aboard pontoons, or floating hotels.

Our WILDLIFE  groups tend to head for the Danube Delta; whilst our PHOTOGRAPHIC parties head there after a look at the medieval architecture of Transylvania. There is walking in the Carpathian mountains to tempt our RAMBLING groups.

Once seen as part of a grey colourless eastern Europe, Romania is being discovered rapidly and a visit will make it clear why.
