Iceland
Painting, Photography, Wildlife Tours,
ICELAND - is sometimes, by virtue of its very name, misunderstood. This small island nation does indeed have glaciers and ice-caps as part of its central region, but the glaciers and ice fields cover only some 11% of the land mass. The coast is indented by scenically stunning fiords, whilst the landscape is dotted with lava fields, geysers and hot springs, all a reminder that this is an actively volcanic country. The natural wonders that mark the landscape are the major attraction for visitors and all can be enjoyed in remarkably pleasant weather for much of the year as the island is warmed by the Gulf Stream and enjoys a mild climate.
Our PHOTOGRAPHY and PAINTING groups are drawn by the scenery and the light; in summer the midnight sun offers endless possibilities, whilst in November and December there are the Northern Lights. Our WILDLIFE groups come here for the arctic fox, seals, whales and the myriad colonies of seas-birds. If you want to find a destination full of natural wonders and dramatic scenery, look no further than this small island.
