Namibia
Birding Conference & Incentive Motor-cycle Tours Wildlife Fishing
This southern African nation has been independent since 1990. Its population is around two million which means that, after Mongolia, it is the second least densely populated country in the world. Much of its surface consists of desert; the Kalahari is perhaps the most famous desert region of the country, but the great dunes of the coastal Namib Desert are a major draw for visitors.
The country has game-rich grasslands and a semi-arid central plateau where most of the population live. Mining makes up some 74% of GDP, but tourism is of increasing importance. Most visitors arrive in search of the wildlife, with Etosha being a major draw, and the coastal dunes of the Namib Desert. Namibia is the only country in the world which addresses the issues of conservation and protection of natural resources in its Constitution and this auguers well for the development of sustainable and responsible tourism. The country has good major roads making getting around relatively straightforward and this is a good country in which to start your African travels as comfort levels are high.
The fauna here attracts our WILDLIFE groups, whilst the vast open spaces and dramatic landscapes interest our PHOTOGRAPHY and PAINTING groups; for a different CONFERENCE or INCENTIVE programme, Namibia has much to offer, whilst the wide open roads attract our MOTOR-CYCLE groups.
