Tennis Tours
TENNIS holidays with the groups company appeal to people who want to play their tennis abroad in the company of friends, perhaps from their local tennis club, perhaps from elsewhere. They may want to take along a tennis professional who can provide lessons to improve their game, or they may simply want to play somewhere in the sun.
Some groups want only to play socially, every day, with no competitive element to the holiday; others prefer the stimulus of competition. This can be simply a series of matches between the members of the group, or for some groups the added excitement of an international match can be built in to the final days of the holiday. Your tennis professional can arrange a series of competitions against local tennis clubs in the area in which you are staying, either as a mini-league or knock-out competition.
Some groups prefer a daily series of matches, with the holiday focused essentially on the tennis courts; others prefer to bring along non-playing partners who may want to sightsee whilst the tennis is under way. This may mean the holiday becomes a mixture of tennis and other activities.
With or without a tennis professional, a competition or an international match to complete the holiday, we can tailor-make your experience as you wish.
You and your group choose the style of tennis holiday that you want.
We operate Tennis Tours to the following destinations:-
Germany, Greece, Mexico, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, & Vietnam.
A Typical day ..
After a leisurely breakfast the morning session may involve just practice, or may involve a warm-up match with friends amongst the group. Some members of the party may wish to spend time with your tennis coach, if you have requested that a coach be built into the programme.
After lunch a match – either a knock-out or a league competition – can be arranged, before a relaxing end to the afternoon leads into the evening and a pleasant dinner.
Two variations on the above may appeal:
Your group may decide that an exciting way to end the holiday would be, after a few days spent acclimatising and fine-tuning their game, to take part in a match against one or more local tennis clubs based in the area you are visiting.. The groups company can arrange this. Or you may decide that, whilst tennis at one centre for the entire holiday is pleasant enough, travelling tennis may add a difference. This would see the group moving on to another locale after a couple of days, perhaps for just for a change of venue or perhaps to take on another local club in a series of touring matches. An unusual variation on this theme is to combine the tennis with a leisurely cruise on one of our gulets in Turkey. Each day then consists of time ashore on court, either practising or competing, mixed with time cruising off-shore, relaxing in the sunshine.
Bringing non-playing partners along will reduce the per-person cost of the holiday and add another dimension to the holiday, with sightseeing – either for the non-players whilst the tennis happens, or for everyone if tennis is in the morning and sightseeing is in the afternoon – built into the itinerary. The exact format of the day is determined by you and your group at the planning stage of the holiday; You and your group choose the style of tennis holiday that you want.
Sample itineraries ...
The itineraries below are intended only to give an indication of what might be possible in a particular country, following an itinerary catering for a particular special interest.
.
No details of meals or accommodation are included in the itineraries as it would be your decision, at the planning stage, as to what is included. You would decide whether your tour included all meals, just Bed and Breakfast, or Bed and Breakfast plus some lunches or dinners at certain points on the itinerary. Similarly you would decide what standard of accommodation you wanted to use.
The itineraries detailed are deliberately short ones. It is intended to give a flavour, an outline, of an itinerary. If you have more time, then extra time can be built into each stop on the itinerary, and additional places of interest and overnight stops can be added. Lengthening the itinerary, to 10 days or two weeks, for example, and adding further night-stops will enrich your journey; shown below is just a brief skeletal itinerary as a basis for discussion and more detailed planning.
