Golf Tours
GOLF TOURS with the Groups Company tend to appeal to those who have played the courses of Spain, Portugal and Florida and want to try somewhere different. They are probably looking for a destination where the courses are not the equal of the best in Spain, for example, but offer an unusual, a different, kind of golf, redolent often of the colonial heritage of the host nation, for example. Courses which will certainly be less crowded than those in the more obvious golf destinations.
Some groups prefer an itinerary which offers 36 holes a day, with the golf being the sole activity and purpose of the itinerary. Other groups prefer to play only every other day, with time for other activities away from the courses, which allows non-golfing partners to come along and for time to be spent together between golf games.
You and your group choose which style of golfing tour you prefer.
We operate golf tours to the following destinations:-
Bolivia, Caribbean, Czech Republic, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Morocco, Portugal, Peru, Spain, Sri Lanka, Turkey, USA Vanuatu
A Typical day ...
A typical day depends, of course, on whether we are playing several courses but staying at the same accommodation, or whether we are journeying from one course to another.
We may, if staying at one location, have a typically early golfer’s breakfast before a morning round of 18 holes. This might see us having lunch around one or two o’clock, with a second round of 18 holes before drinks in the bar precede dinner and a discussion of the day’s play. If the group is less energetic then either morning or afternoon will be jut 9 holes.
But if we are visiting a more unusual golf destination, we may want to travel to several different courses. Then a morning 18 may be followed, after lunch by a drive to our next night stop – perhaps with an introductory 9 holes fitted in, on arrival and before dinner. Alternatively we may drive in the morning, then after settling in and having lunch, play 18 holes in the afternoon.
Play might take place only in the morning, for example, with the afternoon devoted to either a lesson with the professional travelling with the group – if you have chosen to have one along – or sightseeing.
And the sightseeing time may be influenced by one more factor. Playing golf in more unusual golfing destinations might mean that some of the group bring along their partners, who may well not play golf but who might want to spend their time sightseeing whilst the golfer plays. The degree to which group members might want to sightsee with their partners, in this situation, will dictate who plays how many rounds a day.
Whether you play nine, eighteen, twenty-seven or thirty-six holes a day ; whether you travel to several areas or stay put, whether you bring non-golfing members of the party and include some sightseeing as a result: the choice is yours.
Sample itineraries...
The itineraries below are intended only to give an indication of what might be possible in a particular country, following an itinerary catering for a particular special interest..
No details of meals or accommodation are included in the itineraries as it would be your decision, at the planning stage, as to what is included. You would decide whether your tour included all meals, just Bed and Breakfast, or Bed and Breakfast plus some lunches or dinners at certain points on the itinerary. Similarly you would decide what standard of accommodation you wanted to use.
The itineraries detailed are deliberately short ones. It is intended to give a flavour, an outline, of an itinerary. If you have more time, then extra time can be built into each stop on the itinerary, and additional places of interest and overnight stops can be added. Lengthening the itinerary, to 10 days or two weeks, for example, and adding further night-stops will enrich your journey; shown below is just a brief skeletal itinerary as a basis for discussion and more detailed planning.
The price shown is an indicative price only. It is based upon the use of modest hotel accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis and assumes a group size in excess of sixteen paying participants. As you and your group determine much of the detail of the itinerary at the planning stage, the price for your itinerary may increase or decrease as a result.
